By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy. Browsing the Site does not require an account. Real estate professionals who wish to claim and manage their own profile can create an account and sign in; the information involved in that process is described in the “Information From Professionals Who Claim a Profile” section below.

2. Information We Collect From Visitors

We do not ask visitors to create accounts or submit personal information to browse the Site. The information we receive from visitors is limited to: (a) usage data collected automatically through analytics services and server logs, such as pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, device type, and timestamps; and (b) any information you choose to send us directly, such as the contents of an email to our contact address.

3. Analytics and Cookies

The Site uses Google Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics to understand aggregate site traffic. These services may set cookies or use similar technologies and collect usage data as described in their own privacy policies. We use this data in aggregate form to understand how the Site is used; we do not use it to identify individual visitors. You can limit analytics collection through browser settings, browser extensions such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on, or cookie controls in your browser.

4. Information About Real Estate Professionals

The Site publishes profiles, rankings, statistics, and commentary about real estate professionals. This information is compiled from publicly available sources — including public listing platforms, review platforms, public records, and professionals’ own published materials — and from information submitted to us by professionals or their representatives, including professionals who participate in paid or featured placements. It may include names, brokerage affiliations, photographs, contact details published in a professional capacity, sales statistics, review counts, and biographical information.

This is information about individuals acting in their professional, commercial capacity, published for the informational benefit of consumers. If you are a professional and believe information about you on the Site is inaccurate, or you wish to request an update or removal, contact us at contact@therecommendedagent.com with the specific page and details. Corrections and removals are handled as described in our Terms of Service.

5. Information From Professionals Who Claim a Profile

A real estate professional may claim their profile to manage it directly. To do this, we collect and process: (a) an email address, used to sign in through a one-time passcode or magic link and to verify control of the account; (b) authentication and session data required to keep the professional securely signed in; and (c) records of the claim and verification, such as whether ownership was confirmed by matching an email on file or by a verification badge placed on the professional’s website.

Once verified, a professional can add or edit profile content, which we store and publish on their behalf. This may include a biography and headline, an uploaded profile photograph, office address, license number(s), specialties and service areas, website and social media links, client reviews and testimonials the professional enters (labeled by their stated source), and documented sales history the professional submits — which may include property addresses, sale prices, closing dates, transaction sides, and geographic coordinates derived from those addresses to display map locations. Content a professional submits about their own practice is published on their public profile. Professionals are responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the content they submit.

6. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to operate, maintain, and improve the Site; to authenticate professionals who claim profiles and publish the content they submit; to understand aggregate usage; to respond to inquiries, correction reports, and dispute submissions; to maintain the security of the Site; and to comply with legal obligations.

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell visitors’ personal information. We share information only with: (a) service providers that operate parts of the Site’s infrastructure on our behalf, such as web hosting, database hosting, content delivery, and analytics providers; (b) professional advisors where reasonably necessary; and (c) authorities or other parties where required by law or to protect our rights, the Site, or others. Published profile content about real estate professionals is, by its nature, publicly visible on the Site.

8. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of our analytics providers. Email correspondence is retained as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose it was sent. Published editorial content, including professional profiles, is retained at our editorial discretion.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information about you, such as the right to request access, correction, or deletion. Note that certain information — such as editorial content about professionals compiled from public sources — may be subject to legal exemptions, including those protecting publicly available information and free expression.

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We use commercially reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Third-Party Sites

The Site links to third-party websites, including professionals’ own websites and profiles on other platforms. Those sites operate under their own privacy policies, which we do not control and are not responsible for.
