I had the added complexity of working with family members in two different cities on the transaction and Richard was knowledgable, understanding, compassionate, patient and always helpful. As a first time buyer, Richard helped us through the process of buying a condo every step of the way. He has expert knowledge of Minneapolis as well as specific buildings in the downtown area. Every time we asked to see a unit, Richard had a showing set up for us within 24 hours. When it came time to buy our condo we felt as if Richard was constantly on our side and willing to negotiate for us. Even when we found out there was a potential issue in the building, Richard went as far as organizing a meeting with the regional manager of the property management firm to discuss the issue and how this could possibly affect our unit in the future. As a result of that meeting he was able to negotiate $15,000 off our final price. I would highly recommend Richard to any buyer. He talked us through every step of the process and was constantly available answer our questions. Overall we are extremely happy that we went with Richard when it came time to buy our first property.

Richard was excellent to work with. We were first-time homebuyers looking for a condo, and Richard made the process so clear and easy. Richard helped us buy a home in Spring 2013. The market at that time was particularly hot, demand far exceeded supply, and houses were going very fast. Richard was always available to show us houses as soon as something interesting appeared on the market. I've dealt with a lot of real estate agents over the years and in my experience Richard is the best. His communication skills are excellent. His knowledge and use of current technology for searching for houses is fantastic. We bought our house in Minneapolis from 300 miles away and it could not have gone more smoothly. He listened to what we wanted and tried to get us that type of place and not something we weren't looking for. He did everything he said he was going to do and tried to do everything we asked of him almost immediately. I can say that I've also dealt with a lot of bad agents and know how that can make the process miserable. So if you want to have a good experience, and get the type of place you want, where you want it, Richard is the person you want to work with.

We had a great experience with Richard. He was knowledgeable, punctual, and easy to work with. And just as important, he had that intangible ability to match us up with the perfect condo! He suggested we look at a particular condo we had previously crossed off our list before even viewing it....but, as soon as we walked in the door, we knew it was perfect in every way --- location, style, layout, building, and price. Can't ask for more than that!

He uses a property-search system that gets updated fairly often with properties in your desired location and desired price ranges. When it gets updated, you get an email that lets you know that a property that fits cost and location has been added to your list. You follow a link to that list from your email and can check out photos, HOA fees, tax costs, amenities, pet policy, and a host of other details. It made it easy to weed out properties that might be in price range but outside of desired locations, or that might be in desired locations but outside of price range. He was very clear when we saw the first property that fit all of our criteria that at its price level it could very well be snapped up fairly quickly, and despite putting in our offer that same day, there was another offer on the table. He gave us sound advice on what we should offer for the property and we got the place! And while there could have been a long drawn out process, we closed in a month or two of seeing the place with our questions and concerns answered in a timely manner. We're really happy with our experience as first-time homeowners!

Richard was very responsive to our calls and questions, always with our best interests in mind. When our first choice for a particular loft became difficult in the process (due to that property being a short sale), he immediately looked into other similar, suitable lofts in the area that did not have the complicated financing factors. And he followed up with us after we moved in to see how we liked it.

Working with Richard was terrific. As we were buying a condo in Minneapolis but live three hours away our search was a bit complicated. Richard was always accessible, willing to show places on Saturdays and Sundays (almost exclusively), looked at places for us when we could not to advise on whether they seemed right fit for us, and helped talk us through the negotiation process (which could be tricky given many condos were short sales). We had two short sales fall through -- after several months for both -- but Richard was always patient and persevered with us throughout the process. He was not pushy and let our search happen at our pace. We really appreciate all the work Richard did to help us find the right place at the right price.
